Soleus Electric Space Heaters - Energy Saving

I put this heater in my daughter's bedroom in December 2006. It keeps her room heated throughout at a consistent temperature in the cold months. The unit is never hot to the touch and uses little electricity. It's very energy saving in my book. Our pets love to lay right next to it on a cold day. This model is a good bedroom electric heater. I have always been a little nervous about the burn and fire hazards associated with space heaters, but feel perfectly safe with this one. Steady on it's feet, also - with all the activity, I would have expected it to get tipped over a few times by now, but it hasn't. I am getting ready to order another for the living room.

Came fast in the mail, and have had no problem with this baby.If you're looking for electric bedroom heaters then I reccomend this one.

Fahrenheat/Marley FUH54 Suspended Electric Heater

I've had this fahrenheat marley fuh54 heater for over 2 years now and have had no problems with it whatsoever. This is very well built product, and I use this baby in my indoor garage. All the connections are very solid and secure, using heavy duty materials. The heat settings are adjustable via easy to access jumpers. I have it on the factory standard setting and it heats my 20' x 20' garage in less than 10 minutes. Highly endorsed by me.I spend alot of time in my garage, and went to this one because it's economical.

I've had fahrenheat marley heater for a month or so.,and I have absolutely no complaints. No odor or excessive heat, like those crappy smelling floor heaters that use diesel. Very quiet, and looks good.My sister got this one,and is using it in her insulated sun room... about 300 sq ft., the room is still very pleasant even when the temps were below zero last week.

Electric Garage Heater

I was looking for an electric garage heater for my 3 car garage and small shop. This heater exceeds my expectations. I keep the garage at about 50 degrees when I am not working in my shop or on my car. I turn up the thermostat about 2 hours before I go out to work to bring it up to 65. Even when it is in the 20's outside the heater does the job. I am surprised by how much heat it puts out. The fan is quiet. I hired an electrician to install a 240 plug. It cost me $200 but it is very worth it to me to not have to fool with kerosene or propane. Also, I did an analysis of BTU's per hour and found out that electric heating is as cheap or cheaper than kerosene or propane. At least that's true in Tennessee where electricity costs about 8 cents per kilowatt hour. The NewAir Electric Garage Heater has been a blessing. With three walls and the ceiling insulated, my garage stays at 40 or better witout the heater due to heat from the inside of the house. Therefore it does not take much to keep it at 50 and the size of the space (~20X45X12) takes a while for the heater to bring it up 15 degrees. In summary, it works perfect, is quiet, and is just what I needed. You don't have to ask yourself what's the best electric garage heater. This is it.It's also great for the price, and I'd have no problem by recommending to anyone.Great buy,and a great garage electric heater.

Bionaire Electric Fireplace Heater with Remote Control

I love, love, love this fireplace. I was a little skeptical about buying it since the stand in the picture makes it look like a TV, but it is really sleek and cool looking, especially mounted on the wall. And, since the wall mount is just really two big hooks, you can take it down at anytime and use it with the stand anywhere. Having the remote is great. The fireplace sounds are kind of clanky, but that can be turned off. I was really surprised by the thickness of the glass. Overall an excellent quality item, that puts out a good amount of heat and looks great, too!

Dimplex Traditional Electric Wood Stove

I own this stove. I also own the Dimplex electric fireplace log insert. Dimplex products are somewhat more expensive than others, but they out-perform them, and the company customer service really stands behind their products (they replaced the remote control box without argument despite it being beyond the 1 year warranty period). This traditional heater looks authentic, the flame function is a beautiful recreation of an actual fire - and the heater can literally drive you out of a 20'X 20' room if you turn it all the way up. As I said, I bought their fireplace insert after my success with this stove. It too has a beautiful visual effect and a capable, dependable heater. If you buy this stove (or any similar makes) you may want to consider doing what I've done: that is to buy four wooden "bun" furniture feet at a hardware store, paint them flat black and use them under the four stove legs. This raises the heater box (on the stove bottom) off the carpet about 2". Raising the stove a little higher givers a better appearance and provides more airflow through the actual heater making it more efficient since it can blow farther from the unit. As a final note I'm looking at the dimplex compact version for my mother in W. New York.

Dimplex CS3311 Compact Electric Stove

I love this stove!!! After a week of going back in forth between this size and the smaller one, and reading countless reviews I made my choice and selected this larger one and I am so happy that I did!! I ordered the stove on Tuesday morning and it arrived Wednesday afternoon, how is that for service? It looks great and it fits perfectly under our TV. We live in a drafty house built in 1936 and even though we live in central Texas, the winters at times can be quite cold. Having always had a fireplace as a fixture in childhood memories, and loving its warmth and glow, I was determined to find something that could fit our needs and this was it!

As soon as it arrived, I literally lifted it out of the box and plugged it in. The remote is simply an on/off remote, which can be manually customized on the back of the unit so it can turn on/off according to your preferences. (I wish the remote was able to control the heat.) There are three controls on the back, a knob to adjust the heat/temperature level, a three part switch to turn the unit off, on, and remote mode, and a third switch to turn heat on/off, (a winning feature). Just for kicks I decided to crank up the heat and in no time, hot/warm heat was coming out of the bottom. I like that it was almost radiating heat with a slight force; I don't like having heat blowing at me. This was putting out heat at the bottom and since heat rises it was no time before the room was toasty warm.

The stoves' overall appearance is very pleasing, it reminds me of what one might find in an old farm house, but please keep in mind it is on the smaller size; 20 in long, 23 in tall and 10 in deep. But if you have a smaller, draftier room, such as a den, this will work great. And keep in mind; it is super light so you can move it around the house depending on where you are. I can't wait to move it to the kitchen, for that nostalgic "fireplace in the kitchen" feeling!

Holmes 1500 Watt Portable Electric Space Heater

I purchased this heater to warm my office at school...the nuns won't turn on the radiators until you can see your breath...inside the building! I have 13 foot ceilings in this office and it keeps it toasty. I've been very pleased with it's performance, especially since my feet are alot warmer now! The fan feature comes in handy, as there is, of course, no air conditioning at school either! Great value, great product.

This is a small heater, and something to have around the desk.A little noisy, but a dam good indoor heater to take the chill out of a small room.I wanted a heater like this, because to powerful of an electric heater is just over-kill.

Dimplex DGWH4031 4000-Watt Garage Workshop Heater

I purchased this product to heat my 24x24 (7'6" ceiling) garage under my house. During the coldest periods where I live (Western Connecticut) the garage gets down to the low 40s.

After installing the heater and powering it up, in about 10 minutes the chill is gone from the space. After about an hour the space is very comfortable (about 62 degrees - an increase of about 15 degrees from when it was turned on). By the end of the second hour the space warmed to 68 degrees. The built in thermostat turned down to about 3/4 maximum maintains that temperature.

The unit's internal fan is a little bit noisy, but since the unit is intended for a garage/workshop the fan noise is in my opinion not a big deal.

The unit is very well made and easy to install. After installing a 220 Volt 20A single circuit receptacle, I hung the unit in the center of the room from the ceiling about 4 feet from the rear wall of the garage. The bracket that came with the unit is very sturdy and will accommodate several differnt mounting options.

If you had a bigger space or an uninsulated detached garage, a larger unit with more capacity will be needed (5000 watts or more), however for a single car garage or a well insulated two car garage this unit is an excellent value.

NewAir G73 Electric Garage Heater With Built-In Thermostat

I haven't seen the electric bill yet so I'm giving this heater 5 stars. I had previously bought one of the propane Reddy Heaters (RLP50VA see my review on that) to heat my garage but that heater was completely unsuitable for that task. This one is perfect, it heats up the garage quickly and is quiet and clean. It is a 240v heater and requires a hardwired installation so is a little bit of a pain but I wired everything up and had an electrician friend come check out my work before I turned it on and all was OK. Needed a 30A dual pole circuit breaker and 10/2 wire along with a junction box and flexible connecting cable but it was worth the effort! My garage is a garage under (standard Colonial) 26x22 so the ceiling is insulated but nothing else is. Living in NH, a heated garage for working on the cars is pretty much a necessity and I would recommend this heater highly.

My Shop is a little over 500sq ft not insulated and this little giant heat it up with ease and keeps it that way. When I first installed it the temperature outside was around 30 degrees and in less than 45 minutes my shop was at 72 degrees. It is also very quiet and very easy to install. You can hard wire if you do not have an outlet for 220v near by but if you do like me just pig tail it with a 30 amp #10 cord/cable and you`re done. I`m very happy with this Dayton G73 Electric Garage Heater With Built-In Thermostat. A+

Eco-heater 602 High-Efficiency Electric Panel Whole-Room Heater

My house is heated by a propane fireplace. With the cost of propane rising dramatically, I bought three of these heaters last year and used them all winter. I heated my full 1200 square foot living area with those three heaters at an approximate cost of $1 per day. I can't recommend these highly enough. And if you have children or pets, they are very safe--they do get hot, but not hot enough to burn you. Plus, they are totally quiet.
I have recommended these heaters to friends and neighbors.

Vornado TouchStone 500 Vortex Full-Room Electric Heater

I have owned a few of these hot air fan heaters and this is by far the best. I have a large apartment with about a 12' high ceiling and I can notice the "vornado action" moving a feather hanging from a dreamcatcher at the corner of the ceiling with the fan sitting on the middle opposite side of the floor. This shows me that the fan is truely pumping the air around as it is heating and it is not just a gimmick or false claim. Other fans I have had did not do this and took like an hour to heat the room. The Vornado takes the chill out of the room within 15 minutes and is nice and warm reaching thermostat temperature by 30 minutes (most of the time depending on how cold it is.) What's even more impressive is that it is also so quiet I don't even know it's on sometimes!

However, since nothing is perfect here are a some design suggestions for the manufacturers:

1) The Sony remote problem is true, I have the same problem but thankfully my bed blocks my TV remote's "line of fire" so it rarely turns down the heater but it has on several ocassions--- Vornado should have picked a more obscure signal to use for the remote.

2) The remote needs to be more ergonomic so it's easy to hold and there should be indentations on the buttons so that you know what to press when fumbing in the dark--as it is now it's too small and impossible to tell if you're even holding it in the right direction.

3) The fan is so quiet it would be nice if the red "on" light would actually turn green so that you know it's on.

4) The blue LCD display is way too bright--it's like having 2 nightlights on in the room...very annoying and I wish it was darker since there is no need for it to be so bright (I'd put black tape over it but then can't see the temperature).

Overall though, only buy this if you are truely a design freak, it is beautiful and the quality of the metal housing is well worth the price if you are willing to drop that much money on a heater to just look stylish.

In terms of function though you can get the exact same results by buying the much cheaper (about half price) original Vornado without the remote. A friend of mine has this original Vornado which is what inspired me to buy mine. There is also a "clone" type heater competing with the original Vornado made by Holmes and I suspect the performance of that one is going to be very comparable and also a bit less expensive.

Dayton Electric Pump House Heater

I have two pump houses that required a little heat but zero maintenance. I purchased two of these units, one for each. The Dayton units are well made, worked flawlessly, and thier size/design allowed them to be mounted in just the right position horizontally above my wells. Great product!

DeLonghi 34-Inch Ceramic Tower Heater

I am very pleased with this heater. I use it to heat ME, while using my computer in the basement. It does a wonderful job. It also oscillates if needed, it can be used as a fan without heat in the summertime, it has a very convenient remote control, it looks good, it's reasonable. I'm very happy with it. I have no idea how it would work in a larger room, but if you want a nice heater for yourself, you can't go wrong with this one, in my opinion. This is one of the best plug in heaters that a person can appreciate. No wiring heaters.Makes things so much easier.

Oil-filled Radiator Heater From DeLonghi

After reading many of the reviews on Amazon, I purchased this delonghi heater. I can't be happier with its performance. I believe the more positive reviews are a result of using this heater as it was designed - to gradually maintain a slow heat in a small-mid sized enclosed room (say, 20x20 with 9' ceilings). If you want to quickly heat a large room with a blast of hot air, get something with a fan or turn up the thermostat.

We use this heater at night. It does such an effective job of keeping our room at a comfortable 70F (even at lower settings), that we have programmed our central heat thermostat to go down to 60F at night. Of course, the effectiveness of the heater is also dependent on how well your house is insulated.

There were some comments about the heater getting hot to the touch. Well, yes, of course it does - it's a heater! But even at it's highest setting, the metal is not sizzling. It is well insulated enough that you can touch it for a few seconds before it gets uncomfortable - plenty of time for the occasional times you may bump into it. At lower settings - this isn't even an issue.

Why an oil-filled heater? It produces a very gentle heat without drying the air like a conventional ceramic or electric heater.

Why the delonghi? Gentle heat without any sound. We purchased the Honeywell 7-Fin Oil-Filled Radiator Heater as well (they were out of stock of the delonghi), and while it heats fine, it creaks and cracks when you use it. I'm sure this is due to the metal expanding and contracting as it gets warmer and cooler. It's not a huge problem, but if you are a light sleeper, it may be an annoyance.
